I Got A Free Subliminal Weight Loss CD: Will It Work?

Posted by on 16 Aug 2010 | Tagged as: General Health, Weight Loss

A lot of people think that by using a subliminal weight loss CD, they are going to easily reach their desired weight loss goals. The truth is that all of the advertising that you see for subliminal weight loss products is just trying to get you to waste your money on buying stuff that doesn’t work. Subliminal messages have been evaluated and studied many times and they do not have any effect, yet people seem to convince themselves that they do work. You can look at scientific objective evidence showing that they don’t work, or you can even consider giving subliminal messages a chance on yourself. If you are overweight and want to lose weight with subliminal weight loss CDs, you are quickly going to find out that they don’t work at all.

If you still think that subliminal messages for weight loss are really going to help you lose weight, give them a try for yourself and see how much progress you make. Most people think that they are a quick fix, but the truth is that they aren’t at all. These subliminal recording companies generally have a bunch of user-testimonials and fake statistics making it very believable to people that these sorts of products work. The advertising directed towards people hoping to lose weight is absolutely ridiculous (with products like Shake Weight, Ab Doer Twist, etc). They all make a promise that you will lose weight “or your money back” – but most people do not end up sending the product back for a refund.

Subliminal messages weight loss programs

Although something like weight loss through hypnosis can be effective, it does not do all of the work. Plus, regular hypnosis is much different than subliminal messages. A subliminal message is one that is below your conscious awareness of understanding. So it doesn’t even really make logical sense that these would work anyways. If you are unable to understand the message, there’s no way that it is actually going to sink in.

Targeting your subconscious mind

Although your subconscious mind is incredibly powerful, it is not going to respond to subliminal weight loss programs – so I recommend that you don’t waste your time and money on them. It would however, be a good idea to spend some time and money towards constructing a healthy diet and exercise routine to follow. If you exercise for at least one hour a day and start eating better quality foods (and throw away your bad foods), you are going to make great progress towards losing weight. Plus, routine is what registers in your subconscious mind anyways; if you can keep up healthy habits for a period of time (e.g. 90 days), they are going to be much easier to maintain.

Appendicitis Symptoms and Abdomnial Pain

Posted by on 06 Aug 2010 | Tagged as: General Health

The main symptom of appendicitis is abdominal pain. While many people who have had appendicitis say that the pain is hard to describe and feels like nothing they have experienced before, it generally feels like indigestion or the need to have a bowel movement. The pain often starts near the belly button and moves to the lower right side later. Pain in the lower right quadrant of the abdomen is the most common place to feel pain if you have appendicitis. Walking, moving, or coughing may cause this pain to worsen. You may also have a fever and feel sick to your stomach.

The pain that accompanies a case of appendicitis may not even be a particularly severe pain. It could be mild or moderate, but you will most likely feel that there is something wrong. If you feel moderate abdominal pain that doesn’t go away in four hours you should call your doctor. If you feel severe abdominal pain you should call your doctor immediately.

Pain in the abdomen is very common and is a symptom of many different conditions. Since appendicitis can become very serious very quickly, it is important to be able to recognize all of these symptoms of appendicitis.

Appendicitis Symptoms in Adults

-Abdominal pain, especially pain that starts around the belly button and moves to the right side (although you may feel pain elsewhere in the abdomen as well). This is probably the most common appendicitis symptom of them all.
-Feelings of pain – they may get worse if you move or cough
-Nausea and/or vomiting
-Loss of appetite
-Back pain
-Slight fever
-A swollen abdomen

Although this is a good checklist to determine whether or not you should see a doctor for a case of appendicitis, some people may not experience these symptoms. Elderly people, children under two years of age, and pregnant women may not feel any pain in the lower right part of the abdomen. Others may feel pain in their side because their appendix may be in a different position than normal.

Call your doctor right away if you feel any of the above symptoms, as appendicitis can become a very serious health concern very quickly. The only treatment of appendicitis is an appendectomy, or the surgical removal of the appendix. The treatment is easier and more successful when performed before the appendix ruptures. For most people this happens about 24 hours after symptoms first occur. Treatment for a burst appendix is more complicated, and may require antibiotics to prevent infection.
