Stop Smoking Hypnotherapy for Smokers

If you are trying to quit your smoking habit, chances are that you have heard of smoking hypnotherapy. You have probably read that it can be very effective at helping people reduce their cravings and kick their smoking habit, right? Well, despite all of the promotion for stop smoking hypnotherapy, it does not work for everyone and is definitely not going to work by itself. In other words, quit smoking hypnotherapy sessions are not going to make you decide to stop smoking without your conscious effort. Hypnosis has been used long throughout history to help influence the subconscious mind. Many people are using things like golf hypnosis to improve their golf game, relaxation hypnosis to stay calm during the day, as well as other types of hypnotherapy to improve all aspects of their lives.

How Does Hypnotherapy for Smokers Work?

Most hypnotherapy is conducted by a licensed hypnotherapist after a few meetings with his or her client. In a hypnotherapy session, the client relaxes as deeply as possible, and the hypnotherapist gives suggestions to the subconscious mind of the client. These suggestions help increase the probability that the person who is trying to quit smoking will be successful. Hypnosis to quit smoking can be a great because it helps the patient stay focused and take control of their own mind for greater overall self control.

Hypnotherapy Smoking Cessation as a Cigarette Withdrawal Option

If you are trying to quit smoking, realize that hypnotherapy for smoking cessation is just one thing that is going to help you to quit. The more that you can identify with non-smokers and keep your mind off of smoking through other activities (like exercising and relaxation exercises (hypnotherapy works great here)), the greater the probability that you will actually succeed in your process of quitting. Many people think that hypnosis is going to do all of the work for them; this is not the case. You will be deeply disappointed if you think that hypnotherapy is going to do all of your work for you.

Finding a Qualified Smoking Hypnotherapy Specialist

Before you decide to work with a smoking hypnotherapist, you should make sure that you have found a competent hypnotherapist to work with. The easiest way to find a quality hypnotherapist is to read reviews and customer testimonials. Although things like conversational hypnosis don’t actually work, you can overcome your smoking habit with the supplemental use of hypnotherapy. Additionally, you may want to consider listening to smoking self help tapes and reading books by people that were also able to kick their smoking habit.

Using Hypnosis To Quit Smoking

A lot of people have considered using hypnosis to quit smoking, but don’t really know whether it can work. So does hypnosis to quit smoking work? There are a lot of places on the internet that want people to believe that it does so that they can sell you self hypnosis sessions, but the truth is that it isn’t going to be super effective. There have been studies on the effectiveness of hypnotherapy and self hypnosis to quit smoking, and most people don’t find them very helpful to kick their nicotine habits. As a smoker, you are probably trying to find different things that you can do to stop your habit because you are aware of the fact that smoking is unhealthy in both the short and long term.

Can Hypnosis Have Any Influence on Smokers?

There have been certain cases of people that have found hypnosis helpful to supplement their withdrawal from cigarettes. If you are focused and serious about stopping your smoking habit, then hypnosis is not a bad thing to consider adding to supplement your withdrawal. However, you aren’t going to really make much progress if you expect the hypnosis to do all the work for you. What hypnosis is going to do is help you stay focused on quitting and put you in mentally focused and relaxed states of mind that will make you more likely to quit.

Where Can You Get a Hypnosis Session to Try?

Unfortunately, there aren’t many “free hypnosis to quit smoking” audio files (e.g. for self hypnosis) that are available on the internet; in fact, I haven’t found any. Most people that have made products to help people withdraw from cigarettes are trying to make money off of them. You can consider seeing a professional hypnotherapist if you think that you could benefit from it. There’s nothing wrong with at least considering it because you really have nothing to lose (except your cigarette habit). The cost of hypnosis to quit smoking is going to vary depending on the hypnotherapist you go to. Some are going to charge you several hundred dollars per session and require multiple treatment sessions.

Alternative Ways to Quit Smoking

There are a lot of techniques that you can use to help yourself kick your smoking habit. I recommend meeting with a professional counselor or therapist; they will help keep you focused. Coming off of cigarettes can be one of the toughest things that you’ll ever do in your entire lifetime, but the end result of better health will be worth it. As far as hypnosis goes, feel free to give it a shot to help you come off of cigarettes. If you know anything about hypnosis, you’ll know that it’s nothing more than a deeply relaxing, highly focused state of mind; it is not going to make you do anything that you don’t want to do.
