When people decide to lose weight, they usually pick a set amount of weight that they’d like to lose. As a result, most people want to start losing an amount that is not too much, but also not too little. Because of this, most people end up setting out to lose 10 pounds fast – or as fast as they can. Even though this is a great goal for people that are overweight, many people go about this goal the wrong way. They use things like laxatives to lose weight or start buying into things like weight loss through hypnosis – thinking that that’s going to do all of the work. Even worse are all of the Hoodia weight loss advertisements making people think that they will easily be able to shed pounds by taking this as a supplement.

How To Lose 10 Pounds Fast and Safely

If you need to lose 10 pounds fast, you will want to make sure that you do so in a safe manner. This means that you will need to start eating appropriate weight loss meals, and throwing away all of your addicting, bad food. What exactly is “bad food?” Think about it – if you are currently overweight, what does your diet consist of? Obviously you are eating the wrong foods if you are not at your desired weight.

Target the mental component

If you are not mentally focused and disciplined, you will never lose the weight, you will never lose 10 pounds in a healthy way. Some ways in which you can focus include, meditation, visualization, and journaling; these help keep you conscious of the goal that you are trying to reach. If you don’t target the mental component of weight loss, you are going to have a very difficult time making any progress.

Target the physical component

Start eating healthier foods, get rid of your garbage food, and start exercising. Eat less calories than you burn each day. Throw away your sodas (yes, even diet sodas) and throw away your chips, and pastries. Replace all of your junk foods with homegrown, gardened foods from an organic market. Start eating healthier and quit drinking alcohol and doing drugs (if you currently are); this will make it way easier to lose weight. Also, eat only until you are full; stop right when you get full, walk away from the table, and go do something else.

Target the social component

Make friends with people that are also serious about losing weight or that are already in good shape. It can be tough to do this, but it’s a huge part of why you are overweight. If you hang out with friends and/or family members that make poor decisions related to health, you aren’t going to reach your weight loss goal of 10 pounds; there’s absolutely no way. You need to have some type of social support to achieve your goal.
